Delete Your YourFlights Account
How to permanently delete your YourFlights account and what happens to your data.
YourFlights is a flight logbook application developed by Tobias Hann, available as a mobile app (iOS and Android) and as a web application. This page explains how to request deletion of your YourFlights account and which data is removed.
1. Delete your account in the app
The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the YourFlights app:
- Open the YourFlights app and make sure you are signed in.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted.
This permanently deletes your account and all associated flight data immediately. The action cannot be undone.
2. Delete your account without the app
If you can no longer access the app, you can still request deletion. Use the contact form and submit your request from — or referencing — the email address registered to your account, so we can verify ownership. Please state clearly that you want your account deleted.
We will delete your account and associated data within 30 days of verifying your request, and sooner where possible.
3. What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our systems:
- Your profile (display name, handle, avatar, and any profile details)
- All of your flights and the flight data attached to them (routes, airlines, aircraft, dates, notes)
- All flight photos you uploaded (removed from our cloud photo storage)
- Your social graph: followers and people you follow, likes, and comments you posted
- Any blocks you created
- Your reserved handle / username
- Your cached subscription and purchase-entitlement record
- Your sign-in credentials and authentication account
After deletion completes, no personal account data identifying you remains in the YourFlights database.
4. What is retained, and for how long
- Payment and transaction records. If you bought a subscription or other in-app purchase, the underlying payment and transaction records are held by the Apple App Store, Google Play, and our payments processor (RevenueCat), not by YourFlights. Those providers retain such records for their own legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and we cannot delete them on your behalf. To manage them, contact the relevant store.
- Anonymized, aggregated flight data. Consistent with our privacy policy, logged flights also contribute in anonymized, aggregated form to community features such as the global flight Globe and ranking/statistics views. These aggregates show only route geometry and the flight year and are not attributable to you, so they may remain after deletion.
- Technical and usage logs. Limited technical/usage data may persist for up to 24 months before it is anonymized or deleted, as described in our privacy policy.
- Backups. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a short period before they are rotated out of storage.
