This privacy policy governs your use of the YourFlights application ("Application"), available as a mobile app (iOS) and as a web application, developed by Tobias Hann. The Application allows users to collect, manage, and visualize data about flights they have taken.

2. Types of Data We Process

a) User Provided Information

You may provide the following information when using the Application:

Important distinction:

  • If you use the Application without creating an account, your data is stored locally on your device.
  • If you register for a user account, your data is securely stored in the cloud (e.g., via Firebase/Google Cloud) and linked to your account to enable synchronization across devices and access via the web app.

b) Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • Device type and operating system
  • Unique device identifiers
  • IP address
  • App usage data (e.g., features used, interactions)
  • Browser type (for web app usage)

This data is used to ensure functionality, performance, and security.

We do not collect precise location data.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:

  • Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): to provide the core functionality of the Application
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): to improve and secure the Application

4. Data Storage and Hosting

If you create an account, your data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure (e.g., Google Firebase / Google Cloud), which may involve processing in the European Union and/or the United States.

We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

5. Sharing of Data

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share data only in the following cases:

  • With trusted service providers (e.g., hosting, analytics) who process data on our behalf under strict agreements

8. Data Deletion and Account Management

  • You can delete your account and associated cloud data at any time (feature or via support)
  • You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the mobile app
  • Locally stored data remains on your device unless you delete the app or clear it manually

9. Children's Privacy

The Application is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Secure cloud infrastructure
  • Access controls
  • Encryption in transit (HTTPS)

However, no system can be completely secure.

11. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be posted within the Application or on the website. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
